It is a premiere for sailing in Austria: For the first time all Olympic classes will compete for their national title bouts at the same time and place. The responsibility of this unique sailing event was placed upon two outstanding sailing clubs: The “Union Yacht Club Attersee” and the “Segelclub Kammersee”. Over 500 participants are expected to show up coming September, both from neighboring states and Austria. This includes the entire local sailing elite, as well as Olympic, worldwide and European champions. The roughly 46 km² large Lake “Attersee” will thus become the centre of sailing sports for one week in late summer. The famously excellent wind conditions – poetically called “rose’s wind” by insiders – will ensure exciting, high end races.
