International Austrian Championship

Permission number of the Austrian Sailing Federation: 03/2009 dated 22 January 2009

Dates:
Wednesday 2. September till Sunday, 6 September 2009

Organizing Authority:
Segelclub Kammersee (SCK) and Union-Yacht-Club Attersee (UYCAs)
on behalf of the Austrian Sailing Federation (OeSV) in conjunction with the Class Associations.
Finn, 470er and Yngling are based at the SCK (Inselweg 13, 4863 Seewalchen am Attersee)
Laser, Laser-R, 49er, Tornado and Star are based at the UYCAs (Aufham 35, 4864 Attersee am Attersee).

Venue:
Lake Attersee

Eligibility:

International open for all boats of the classes Laser, Laser Radial, Finn, Tornado, 470er, 49er, Yngling and Star, registered in the register of yachts in a club affiliated to the ISAF. Boats shall conform to the class rules. Each competitor must hold a third party liability insurance with a minimum coverage of EUR 1.500.000.
Skipper and crew shall be members of a club affiliated to their national authority or shall be individual members of their national authority and the class organisation.
Skippers are required to possess a sailing licence from their national authority (if any).
Only boats shown by 25 August 2009 on the list of competitors on the official website of the event „www.sailingnationals.at" are entiteled to start.

Rules:
The event will be governed by: Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) 2009-2012, the ISAF regulations, the prescriptions of the OeSV, the Class rules (except if any of these are changed by this Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions), this notice of race and the sailing instructions. The prescription of the ÖSV will apply only for the national ranking list.
The Anti-Doping Code will apply.

Advertising:
Yachts may be required to display advertising of the event sponsors according to ISAF Regulation 20.

Registration and Measurement:

Each crew shall provide at the Registration Office in the club they are situated:
- Measurement Certificate of the yacht.
- Confirmation/written proof of third party liability insurance of EUR 1.500.000.
- Membership card of their national federation and class organisation.
- Race Licence (if any issued by the National Authority)
Control of boats and sails:
Wednesday 2 September 2009, 10.00 am to 1.00 pm and 3.00 pm to 8.00 pm.
Thursday 3 September 2009, 8.00 am to 11.00 am.

Start of the first race:

Thursday 3 September 2009, 12.00 am

Last possible time to begin a starting procedure:

Sunday, 6 September 2009, 2.25 pm

Scoring:
In the classes Laser, Laser Radial, Finn, 470er, Tornado, Star and Yngling the number of scheduled races is 6. In the 49er class there are 16 races scheduled.
When fewer than 7 races (11 for the 49ers) have been completed, a boat’s score will be the total of her race scores. 6 completed races are required to constitute the National Championships. 3 completed races are required to constitute the Race as a national ranking regatta.
The Low Point Scoring System of RRS Appendix A will apply.

Courses:
In the classes Laser, Laser Radial, Finn, Tornado, 470er, Yngling and Star courses with a target time of 50 minutes, in the 49er class with a target time of 30 minutes will be used.

Penalty System
For the Tornado and 49er classes rules 44.1 and 44.2 are changed so that only one turn, including one tack and one gybe, is required.

International Jury:

Decisions of the international jury will be final as provided in rule 70.4.

Radio communication:
A boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones.

Entry closing date:

Entries shall be made untill 17 August 2009; Late entries will be accepted only by the discretion of the organizing committee.
Only boats shown by 25 August 2009 on the list of competitors on the official website of the event „www.sailingnationals.at" are entiteled to start.


Minimum Number of Entries:
5 boats at entry close (each class).

Liability, Pictures, Data:

Every competitor is obliged to adhere to the Racing Rules and all other rules applicable to this event. Competitors take part in the regatta entirely at their own risk. The SCK, the UYCAs, the Austrian Sailing Federation and the Class Associations, their officers, members and volunteers do not accept liability for loss of life or property, personal injury or damage caused by or arising out of the regatta.  Competitors agree that photographs or videos of participating sailors and boats may be taken during the regatta which may be published without restrictions (e.g. press releases, event promotion, etc.).  Competitors explicitly agree that their personal data may be saved and used by the SCK and the UYCAs for its own purpose, but shall not be passed on to Third Parties.

Prizes:
1.    In the classes Laser, Laser Radial Female, Finn, 470 Female, 470 Male, Tornado, 49er, Star, Yngling Female und Yngling Male there will be given national titles:
The winning Austrian Team will be given a price of honour from the OeSV and the titel Austrian Champion 2009 in the XXX-Class. If the winners are foreigners or if the the winning team consists of Austrians and foreigners this team gets the title International Champion 2009 of Austria in the XXX-Class. The best Austrian Team than will get the price of honour from the OeSV and the titel Austrian Champion 2009 in the XXX-Class.
2.    Medals from the Austrian BSO for the the best Austrian teams
3.    Trophys for the best six boats of each class.
4.    Keepshake gifts for all other participants.
